In mylar bags, the term "mil" refers to a unit of measurement for thickness. One mil equals 0.001 inches. This measurement helps determine how strong and durable the bag will be.
4 mil (101.6 microns), 5 mil (127 microns), 6 mil (152.4 microns), and 7 mil (177.8 microns) are the most common options. Thicker bags provide stronger durability and longer protection against moisture, light, and air.
